About Me
Hi, I’m Katie Welsh, a photographer based in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
For me, photography has always been about more than simply taking a picture. It’s about noticing the details—the way light falls across a face, the character in an old car, the tiny expressions of a newborn, or the little moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
My love for photography began more than 20 years ago with black-and-white film. There was something special about slowing down, looking closely, and creating an image with intention. Although the technology has changed, that feeling never really left me.
Over the years, photography became a creative outlet and a way to continually challenge myself. I spent countless hours learning Photoshop, experimenting with editing, and photographing the people, places, and things around me. Then, four years ago, after the birth of my daughter, something reignited. The passion I had carried with me for so long came back brighter than ever.
Since then, I’ve immersed myself in the world of digital photography—learning, experimenting, and constantly looking for new ways to see and create. I love the technical side of photography just as much as the creative side: the cameras, the light, the composition, and the editing that all come together to turn an idea into an image.
I don’t believe there is one type of subject worth photographing. A newborn’s tiny fingers, the curves of a classic car, the character of an everyday object, or a fleeting moment can all be beautiful when you take the time to really see them.
Thank you for being here and taking a look through my work. I hope my images give you a glimpse not only of what I photograph, but of how much I genuinely love the process of creating them.
If something in my portfolio catches your eye, I’d love to hear from you. Whether you have an idea in mind, need a photographer, or simply want to talk about photography, my door is always open.
